About the event
Come join teacher Jason Siff as he explores the importance of recollection in one's meditation practice and how to improve your memory inside and outside of meditation. The original meaning of "sati," usually translated as "mindfulness," is "memory." This is a different approach to developing mindfulness in meditation and daily life.
Our time with Jason will include a period of meditation followed by an exploration of Recollective Awareness Meditation.
About the Teacher
Jason Siff was a Buddhist monk in Sri Lanka in the 1970's where he studied Pali and learned Vipassana Meditation. He created "Recollective Awareness Meditation" during that time period and continued to improve upon it, teaching only this type of meditation after he left the Buddhist Order in 1990. He has published "Unlearning Meditation" and "Thoughts Are Not the Enemy" with Shambhala Publications.
