Insight Thru Improvisation

Join us for a special Dharma Workshop offered by two of our very own community members! Following the highly enthusiastic response to the Dharma Kitchen conversation, “Improv: Stepping Into the Unknown,” we are pleased to present an opportunity to experience the exhilaration of engaging in Improvisation at an in-person workshop. Proposed as a fundraising event by Improv actors, Christen Sussin and Kathy Popoff, the proceeds from “Insight Thru Improvisation: Saying ‘Yes!’ To What Is” will be donated to South Bay InsightLA.

During our workshop, you’ll find out how Improvisation helps you open to your creativity, trust your instincts and become more connected. Participants will be led gently and joyfully through a series of collaborative exercises that create new paths to the present moment. We will observe how the mind and body affect each other and make note of concepts from our Insight Practice that emerge as we play.

It is recommended that you wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes for a full range a movement. Bring water and a snack for our break. Find a map to the location on our registration page, and come for an afternoon of fun!

About our Improv Coaches:

Christen Sussin has been a performer and teacher of Improvisation for over 20 years. She has appeared on shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm and Modern Family and created the entirely improvised TV Series, "Campus Ladies" for Oxygen with her fellow Groundlings Alumna Carrie Aizley.

Kathy Popoff is an enthusiastic amateur (in the original etymology of the word) of both meditation and improvisation. She is a retired attorney, and grateful to be so (the 'retired' part, that is).

About the Registration:
